This was a few years ago, near Halloween. I was sitting on my porch reading as a group of really tough-looking gangster girls wearing MLD* colors walked by.
"Oh RIGHT...like she can AFFORD that many pumpkins!"

today on the El, a rather large and tall African-American young man said with great expressiveness in his voice and body language to someone on the other end of a cell phone conversation, just as the train unexpectedly stopped and became totally silent,
'Dude had, like, a mini Don King!'
i don't think i'm exaggerating when i say the whole car was given pause by this image.
And everyone knew exactly what he was talking about--beautiful. Now yah see? This would be a *great* blog post.
